Gillian Steiginga grew up in an environment shaped by fine art and the pursuit of beauty. Raised among several masters of visual arts, she grew up with a deep reverence for beauty, craftsmanship, and excellence—formative values that continue to shape her work. Now based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Gillian is an oil painter who explores faith, space, memory, and the relationships that define the human experience.

Her paintings often center on quiet, understated compositions drawn from the visual language of her childhood. Through subjects rendered with delicacy, she creates scenes marked by subtle ambiguity, inviting viewers to linger in the tension of the space she presents. Influenced by classical art and the rhythms of liturgy, her work approaches the ordinary with a sense of reverence, attentive to the fragility and significance found within stillness.
